South Africa pulled out all the stops for their FIFA 2010 World Cup kickoff concert in Soweto earlier this evening. The night before the first game of the biggest sports competition in the world, artists from around the world performed for thousands in a celebration of soccer, the Associated Press reports. Parts of the concert were also internationally televised.
After several hours of warm-up acts, South African artists, trumpeter Hugh Masekela and singer Lira, performed several international hits that originated in South Africa.
The Black Eyed Peas then took the stage and performed a medley of their hit songs. Watch their performance of 'I Gotta Feeling' after the jump.
